Service Description

This class is for you if you're new to Pilates or have been practising Pilates for a year or two. There's lots of talking (from me!) about what we're doing, why we're doing it and where I want you to feel the movements coming from in your body as you're working. We'll work on the Pilates Principles (Alignment, Breathing, Centring, Concentration, Coordination, Relaxation, Precision and Flow) and how to apply these to your movements to get the most out of your class. Some people may stay in this class for 6 months-1 or 2 years whereas others may stay in this class permanently as it suits them and their needs. These relaxing, rejuvenating and fun sessions focus on improving core strength, reducing aches and pains and teaching you techniques that you can take into daily life to keep feeling good off the mat! This class is suitable for those who are new to Pilates and for those who would like a recap, its slow paced with lots of explanation and detail so you can feel really confident in your Pilates journey and learn all the Pilates principles to help you get the most from your workout. Each session is different and we believe in empowering you so you get to know your body better - improving body confidence, moving with grace and ease, reducing aches and pains, improving mobility and flexibility, and strengthening the body from the inside out. We sometimes use small equipment to enhance/aid the movements depending on what we need as individuals. A small group individually tailored session which will leave you relaxed, rejuvenated and is a great way to end your day.

Cancellation Policy

If you're new to In Balance Pilates please read the details below about how to find us, what to bring, our cancellation policy and to fill in a medical questionnaire before your first session.. Thanks so much! Michelle x How to find us: The class at Studio E is on Princess Avenue, Oakham, LE15 6PQ, it’s just up the road from the hospital in Oakham. If you can’t find it give me a bell (07973 870508) and I’ll direct you! There’s loads of parking around the building so it should be easy to find a space. When you arrive come up the ramp on the side of the building and the class will be in the large studio on the right. There’s loads of storage to place bags/shoes/coats/buggies and a toilet with baby changing facilities just ahead of you on the left. All you need to know about our classes: Classes are very relaxed and friendly and we encourage you to go at your own pace and above all, enjoy! Our Mamas & Minis class is very relaxed so please feel free to cuddle/change nappies/feed as you need to. In class I’ll have a playmat with toys and a baby bouncer if you would like to make use of them. I’m also always up for baby cuddles! What to bring: All you need is to wear comfortable clothing you can move around in easily, and to bring a bottle of water and a mat if you have one. If you don’t, let me know and I’ll have one ready for you. If you're coming to a Mamas & Minis class bring whatever your little one needs too. At the end of the session there will be tea and something yummy to nibble so you can have a chance to chat and get to know each other. If you have any dietary requirements let me know and if you need to rush off don’t worry, just bring a travel mug so you can take your goodies to go! One last thing! The last thing I need from you is a medical questionnaire, if you’re able to complete this and send back to me before your class that would be great! I'll email the correct one to you once you've booked your class. Looking forward to seeing you! Cancellation policy: If you can't make your usual session due to illness/holiday we'd love you to take a make up class in any of our other classes. This ensures you maintain that great Pilates feeling! NOTE - make up classes MUST be taken within the same block and cannot be carried over. Subject to available space and must be booked in advance - contact Michelle directly to book your make up session. PRIVATE SESSIONS - please note private sessions require 24 hours notice of cancelation/change. Less than 24 hrs notice will result in the full session being charged.
